  3. We have two (2) Buying Shows and general membership meetings per year. These shows/meetings are held prior to the Jewelers Circular Keystone Show (JCK).

At this time there are approximately 120 recognized authorized vendors to the Continental Buying Group. These vendors extend further than just basic jewelry merchandise. We go into all types of retailer requirements, including items such as boxes, safes, showcases, premiums, bank services, etc.

Show #1 is held in January or February (currently in Tucson).

Each member will receive a show book which outlines the terms and conditions of vendors exhibiting at the show.
Days 1 - 3 is the Buying Show and Information Exchange Meeting.
Day 4 - evening: General Membership Meeting (Attendance Mandatory)

Show #2 is held in May or June (currently in Las Vegas)

Days 1 - 3 is the Buying Show and Information Exchange Meeting.
Day 3 after the show is the General Membership meeting that is mandatory.
**Someone must represent all members at these shows/meetings from their organization who has the right to vote, make purchases, and make business decisions.

If one owner operates under several names, it is considered one membership.

Continental Buying Group Office Provides:

* Each member receives a general information disc that lists every vendor and their deal. The members must honor all deals made with a vendor. All credit terms must be honored and paid as agreed. If an individual company negotiates for specific terms and is accepted by the vendor, the office must be notified so a dispute does not occur later on.

* Call for special items (i.e. diamonds) that you are looking for and we will handle it. This allows you or your buyer to go on to other projects.

* Ten (10) newsletters/bulletins per year are sent providing you with all pertinent information and specials being offered by our suppliers.

* Items are assayed on an ongoing basis to ensure they are up to Federal Trade Commission standards. Diamond weights are checked to be certain they are as specified. An agreement to the above must be signed by every approved vendor. (see enclosed).

* We will negotiate any problems between authorized vendors and group members.

* We travel worldwide in researching and developing new merchandise.

* We are continuously updating our computers and are researching developing an Intranet site.

We do not require a member to sign any type of agreement/contract. The Continental Buying Group was formed twenty-three (23) years ago and has increased its membership every year it has been in existence. I strongly encourage you to call one of our existing members.

Any member can give up their membership by simply notifying this office. We ask only that
all information, books and current newsletter/bulletins be returned to our office.

It is the opinion of the writer that membership benefits far outweigh the $6900.00 annual cost
of this program. Not only have we negotiated the lowest possible prices (usually on a cast/contract basis) for the merchandise but have worked out many volume rebate programs
(especially with our loose diamond suppliers). Most of our membership receive rebate checks
that more than pay for their dues.

Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Andie Weinman, President
Continental Buying Group, Inc.
